Easy Spring Activities in North Indy

Here are some creative and adventurous springtime activities for toddlers and kids in and around Carmel, IN:

🌿 Puddle Jumping Extravaganza – After a good spring rain, throw on some rain boots and head to a local park like Central Park or West Park for some classic puddle jumping fun. Bonus: Bring toy boats for mini races! See HERE for more of my easy rainy day activities including a DIY rain boat.

🥄 Mud Kitchen Madness – Set up a DIY mud kitchen in your backyard or visit a local nature park where kids can dig, mix, and "cook" using sticks, leaves, and mud. West Park has a great natural play area perfect for messy fun! Our favorite it Coxhall Gardens and Fishers Agripark

🌸 Garden Visits & Fairy Houses – Another vote for Coxhall Gardens for a beautiful spring stroll and bring along some tiny trinkets to build fairy houses in a quiet nook. Your little one will love imagining fairies visiting their creations.

🐝 Pollinator Hunt – Head to the grounds at Newfields (not far from Carmel) First Thursday is FREE and challenge your kids to spot bees, butterflies, and birds helping spring come to life. Bonus points, ask the front desk for a nature kit!

🌳 Creek Stomping & Nature Play – Cool Creek Park is a great spot for little adventurers to explore shallow creeks, skip stones, and hunt for interesting rocks and critters.

🌼 DIY Wildflower Picking – Visit a local wildflower-friendly area (like Flowing Well Park) and let the kids carefully pick a few blooms to press at home for a fun nature craft.

🚴 Blossom Bike Ride – Take a ride along the Monon Trail and see how many different colors of flowers you can spot along the way. Stop for a springtime picnic in Midtown Plaza!

Try a new coffee shop - I love Coffee at the Crossing. Located in a refurbished train caboose with toys and games (McCordsville).Seriously so cool!

These activities not only get kids outside but also engage their senses, creativity, and curiosity about nature. Which one sounds the most fun to you? 🌿🌸
